PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
GRAIN-D DUST is a ready-to-use post-harvest insecticidal dust for controlling larger grain borer, grain weevil and red flour beetle in stored maize grain.
It contains thiamethoxam 3.6 g/kg and deltamethrin 2 g/kg. Apply directly to shelled grain as directed; no spray-water dilution is required.
MODE OF ACTION
Thiamethoxam belongs to the neonicotinoid chemical group and is classified as an IRAC Group 4A insecticide. It acts on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR), disrupting normal nerve signalling and causing overstimulation, paralysis and death in susceptible insects.
Deltamethrin belongs to the pyrethroid chemical group and is classified as an IRAC Group 3A insecticide. It affects voltage-gated sodium channels in insect nerve cells, disrupting nerve impulses and causing hyperexcitation and paralysis. It acts through contact and ingestion.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
- Wear the protective equipment specified on the product label and measure the required amount of dust accurately.
- For bagged maize, mix 50 g thoroughly with each 90 kg bag of shelled grain using a shovel.
- For bulk conveyor handling, apply 500 g per tonne directly to the grain.
- Dust the inner surface of the sacks as directed.
